Healthy Hips, Happy Knees and Back

Our hips literally move us through life, but are problem area for many.  Stiff hips, weak hips, hips that “grip” and other such descriptions are commonplace, and can be a cause of lower back and knee pain.  In this workshop we look in more detail at the hip joint, what movements a healthy hip should be capable of, why we may be experiencing problems and how to improve this. You will be given tools to apply in daily life, as well as exercises to practice at home in order to increase the health and function of your hips.

Find your Feet, Improve your Balance

The feet are the foundation of the entire body and our grounding to the earth. We can build a strong and flexible body but if the feet are not strong, supple and ‘awake’ we are building upon a weak foundation.  This fun and practical masterclass will give you simple, yet effective tools and techniques to mobilise and strengthen your feet and ankles and exercises building on this to improve your balance and gait.

Saturday 6th November 

Connected to your Core

Being centered is both physical and psychological. In this workshop we will look at exercises that release, tone and condition our deep core stabilising muscles, including psoas and the pelvic floor. We will explore how alignment and breathing rather than muscular contraction can improve abdominal tone and internal organ health, and enable us to move more naturally.

Saturday 20th November 

Breathe and Move Freely

Modern life is full of constant stimulation and stress which can unbalance the nervous system and lead to accumulative tension being held in the body structure and chemistry. This has implications for our mental health and immune system. In this workshop we will explore the physiology of stress, look at how the nervous system functions and how to promote better balance through exercises, breathing and relaxation techniques.

Time: 8.00 – 9.30 am

Venue: WOW clinic, Westbourne
