Osteopathy is a physical medicine that relies on accurate diagnosis. It finds restrictions throughout the body, whether it is is in the muscles, bones, ligaments, viscera (gut) or the nervous system. After taking a thorough case history to exclude serious illness, the osteopath will focus on eliminating the restrictions in order to promote the body to heal itself. In some cases you will be referred to a specialist.
Everybody can be seen by an osteopath, from the very young to the very old. The WOW Clinic offers both Structural Osteopathy, which is more manipulative and direct, and Functional or Cranial Osteopathy. The latter is a gentle treatment that listens to the body. It is very good for stress and individuals who might need a gentler approach to their treatment.
